Ever since I was a child I have had moderate to server back problems. Over the years I have tried various different things on my own and by the recommendation of doctors to try and relieve the pain, stiffness and other symptoms. My doctor seems to think my problems are partially genetic and part from an injury I had when I was a young child on the playground when I fell on my back off of the high bars. Ever since then my back has just never felt right.

Idea to Buy a Massage Business

I have tried different things such as pills, acupuncture, and even considered hypnotherapy to try and relieve the pain just in the last couple of years. Some things work better than others but other than light pain killers, one of the things I have been having great success with is getting weekly massages. Since I really like helping other people myself I have actually been looking into massage franchise opportunities. If I could own my own massage company I feel like I could educate people about the health and relaxation benefits of semi-regular massages.

It would be really great to know I was helping others the way I have been helped by massages for my back. Before I started to get them, my back was very stiff and it limited my mobility including the ability to be able to enjoy things like biking and playing sports with some of my friends. Since then, however I feel myself more relaxed overall and a lot of the stiffness and soreness is greatly reduced. It’s the difference between being able to enjoy an activity and feeling like I am just suffering though it. Hopefully my massage business will be a success and they will continue working for me as well.

When I went to buy my first home, I knew that along with the pride, and sense of ownership, would come more responsibility as well. Along with this responsibility comes a good amount of risk because now when something broke in my home I didn’t have the convenient option of just telling my landlord so they could send someone out to fix the problem for me free of charge. Things were going pretty well the first few months until a tree fell on my house and I found out I needed a completely new roof. This was a big blow because the work and materials that go into a new roof is not cheap.

I didn’t have all that much time to do the research for my roofing project so I basically just looked into a few different local companies in the area and also looked into a few brands of roofing products and shingles. I really liked Certain Teed Symphony roofing products, especially the synthetic slate because its really attractive and actually harder and more energy efficient than real slate shingles.

It was a big shock to have such a big expense come in when I just purchased a house but its still worth the money to be a homeowner. A few good things did come out of my roofing project in the end. A new roof increases the value of a home so when I decided to sell im confident I can get more money out of it. Its also just nice knowing that I have a sturdy, secure, and energy efficient roof that I hopefully don’t have to worry about for the next few years.

There are a lot of different industries where its so helpful to have someone you can trust to call and help when you have an emergency. A good doctor that can always figure out what is wrong with you and a good plumber is another good example. Recently I had a pipe burst in my home and had no idea who to call because I have somehow or another never needed to call a plumber. More often then not, when you need to call a plumbing company, you really need someone to show up fast and get the job right the first time.

I am really lucky that I made a quick call to my neighbor to see if they could recommend anybody before I randomly called a company in the phonebook. These days, its so important to get references before you hire any company to do work on your home. My neighbor Karen suggested I call this plumbing company in Richmond VA for the plumbing service I needed. Right off the bat when I looked at their website I was able to see that they had insurance and were rated highly by the better business bureau. These relatively simple things were really important to me.

After I made the call they were able to get there in no time. The plumber told me they had more than a few trucks so they were almost always able to get to a job in short notice. You never really know how much you appreciate good service until something like a busted pipe happens and you need it. What was even better I almost forgot about was when I was on the phone they were able to give me a very accurate price quote for free. Even though you probably don’t live in the same town as me, there are all things to look out for if you are looking for the best plumbing company in your area.

Carpet Cleaning Saves Friendship

I’m not a shy person. In fact, my laughter is usually loud and obnoxious and mostly embarrasses or annoys a lot of people who may be around me when the nose snorting, loud chortling begins. However, I honestly hope that people don’t take themselves so seriously and give up all the great things laughter can provide. How many times can a person really choke back a good giggle.

Of course, sometimes my laughter can lead to a liability. We were at a beach house in the Outer Banks when a heavy set man in a red Speedo was strolling along the water with his miniature dog on a leash just as I took a big gulp of Merlot.

I couldn’t help but spray the carpet with red wine as I burst into my normal hilarity. I was mortified by what I saw. My best friend’s husband was also angry that I just spewed fine merlot all over the eggshell carpeting in the foyer in their Outer Banks home.

It looked like a murder scene had happened. I knew if I didn’t find a professional carpet cleaner that served OBX, a murder scene might actually take place. While I was profusely apologizing, I was able to find just the right people on my smart phone.

We cleaned up as much as we could and the party continued. The next day, the expert North Carolina carpet cleaning team showed up and took care of the mess I made. I house sat until they were finished with the carpeting. It was amazing what they accomplished. Not only did they get the merlot out of the carpeting, but they made entire room look fantastic for an affordable price.

Of course, even though I saw that huge man again on the beach (this time in blue), I was able to hold back my mirth to a low rumble.

There have been a series of break-ins around town over the last couple of months. Besides the obvious financial reasons, I’m not exactly sure why or who would be involved. Police have been patrolling around more than normal in hopes to catch the burglars. It’s hard to say, but it’s usually a matter of time before they get caught.

Just as a preventative measure, I’m having the front door to the office tinted with the security film that makes the glass hard to break. By no means do I think this will keep anyone out, but it may keep them out long enough until the police arrive. I’ve already contacted someone concerning window tinting in West Palm Beach. It’s to be finished within the next day or two. I’ve taken other precautions as well. I installed dead bolt locks on all of the entrances into the office. I’ve been double checking to make sure all of the doors and windows are properly locked. The last thing I’d want to have happen is to let the criminals walk right in! The break-ins themselves seem sporadic with no real obvious trend so I guess you could say everyone is fair game. If they were only targeting jewelry stores I wouldn’t be too worried.

Hopefully they catch these people soon. It’s driving me crazy constantly having to spend the extra time to make sure everything is secure every day. It’s nice having the dead bolts on the doors, but it will be better knowing I have them and I don’t need to use them. We’ve never really had issues like this before so I would assume that once they catch these people, the problem will go away. Hopefully it goes away soon and I can get some peace and quiet.

Roofing Tar Buckets the HVAC Unit

We tried a new restaurant yesterday for lunch. They just opened about a week ago and luckily it’s only about a five minute walk down the road from the office. It’s a pretty cool burger joint and as far as my experience went, they have pretty good food.

The restaurant itself sets on the corner of Main Street. On our walk, we passed an old set of office buildings that were being renovated. It’s about time, the entire building looked like it was about to fall down. I’m surprised they even decided to restore it; it must have looked better on the inside then it did on the outside. It’s about a five story building so they have quite a bit of work to do before it can be used. They had every kind of technician you could imagine; electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and everything in between. Some of them were pouring concrete for the new sidewalk up to the building while others were running electrical wire from the street. It just so happens as we walked by someone from the roof accidentally, I hope, kicked a pail of roofing tar over the side. The bucket fell the entire five stories when it landed directly onto a HVAC unit connected to the adjacent building.

How unfortunate they are. If only the bucket had landed on one of their own HVAC units they would be better off as they appear to need replacing as it is. Looks like the neighbors are going to have to find HVAC replacement services in Chesterfield. It’ll all work out; with all of the renovation going on I’d say they have more than enough investment money to replace a few HVAC units here or there. It was quite the interesting walk to lunch that’s for sure. We’ll have to go there more often; for the food and the excitement.
